Peeling or bubbled vinyl wrap kitchen doors, also sold as foil wrap, can almost always be saved. re:love Home strips the failed wrap, prepares and primes the MDF underneath, and sprays it in a new colour, so the doors look better than the day they were fitted.
Why does vinyl wrap peel?
Vinyl wrap peels because heat and steam soften the glue that holds the film to the MDF. That is why it usually starts beside the oven, the kettle or the dishwasher, then spreads along the edges.
Once it has lifted, it will not stay down for long. Glue and irons only buy time.
Can peeling vinyl wrap doors be sprayed?
Yes, once the wrap is off. re:love Home never sprays over vinyl, because paint on loose film fails with it. The wrap is removed, the MDF is sanded, sealed and primed, and then sprayed.
Underneath the wrap is usually a sound, moulded MDF door, and that is what gets kept.
When is a wrapped door not worth saving?
A wrapped door is not worth saving if the MDF itself has swollen with water, which usually happens under the sink. re:love Home will tell you which doors are like that from your photos, so you can decide what to do with them before anything is booked.

Can you spray over vinyl wrapped kitchen doors?
Yes, once the wrap is removed. re:love Home strips peeling or bubbled vinyl, prepares and primes the MDF underneath, then sprays it. We never spray over loose wrap, because the new finish would only be as good as the film beneath it.
Is foil wrap the same as vinyl wrap?
Yes. Foil wrap, vinyl wrap and thermofoil are names for the same thin plastic film glued over MDF doors. re:love Home removes it the same way, whatever it was sold as.
Will a sprayed finish peel like the wrap did?
A sprayed finish is paint bonded to sealed and primed MDF, not a film held on with glue, so it does not lift at the edges the way wrap does near an oven or kettle. That is why re:love Home puts so much time into preparation.
